Richard Vance is a dedicated resident of Grant, known for his unwavering commitment to family values and community engagement. As a devoted husband and father with many years of experience, Richard has invested his life in nurturing strong family bonds and upholding conservative principles that reflect the traditional values of his community.

With a steadfast belief in protecting minors, Richard advocates for an educational environment free from political and governmental influence, emphasizing the importance of parental choice, consent, and responsibility. He opposes teaching, promoting, or supporting sexual orientation preference or identity to minors, prioritizing the protection of youth.

Drawing from his extensive experience, Richard champions the reintroduction of trades and basic life skills classes in schools, recognizing their essential role in equipping individuals with practical knowledge for daily life and career readiness. He is a vocal proponent of accountability, fiscal responsibility, and transparency within school district administration, ensuring that resources are effectively allocated for the benefit of students and the community.

Richard's diverse background includes significant experience in education, business, and organizational leadership. From serving as a high school diving coach and English/science teacher to holding executive positions in construction companies, he brings a wealth of expertise to his role. Additionally, his involvement in non-profit organizations, including chairing the board of a pregnancy center and co-founding a unique youth summer camp program, reflects his dedication to serving others and making a positive impact in the community.

As a Level 2 MASB Certified Board Member with an Award of Merit, Richard is well-prepared to contribute his insights and leadership to the Michigan Association of School Boards, particularly through his involvement in the Bylaws & Resolution Committee.
